Korean bbq.

 

Sitting together in a circle,

laying newspaper on the living room floor,

slowly watch as the meat turns crispy and golden-brown,

and dipping it in Doenjang (된장, Soy bean paste).

 

 

This is my favorite food in the world.

 

 

Korean bbq.

But to be honest, I’m not really happy with the term “Korean bbq”.

Like ‘Yakiniku (焼肉)’ – which is the word meaning ‘grilled meat’ in Japanese,

I feel it should be called ‘Gui (구이)’ or ‘Gogi-Gui (고기구이)’ which means ‘grilled meat’ in Korean.

 

Still, tastes great.
